I have been so lucky to watch her grow as an author and I am sure she can say the same about me. ;) By the way she won my contest on my Because I want your sex…Stories page with her entry Enslaved by Darkness. Damn hot, I tell you. And she beat out Will LaForge?? Shhh don’t tell anyone. ;)
Be sure to scroll all the way down for the sexy scene and all the freebies, including the multi-author anthology. It’s called Sexy Holiday Bites. PS this is free so grab it!
I’m giggling at this question, because the answer is that I write erotica. I have close friends and family members who don’t know that I write erotica.
I’m better known as the girl who whips up some of the best county cooking you’ll ever eat, (move over Paul Deen) and spends time at the library with my kids.
Shh we won't tell!
Suzy Ayers: Who is a mentor or someone that you look up to/inspires you?
Ann, a dear friend of mine who was an avid reader. She had an impressive personal library of hardbacks, and we would spend hours reading Patricia Cornwell and James Patterson novels. One day, I wrote an erotic short story on notebook paper featuring Ann and her favorite celebrity. She totally loved it and encouraged me to keep writing. Ten years after I wrote the story, Ann tragically passed away. While I was cleaning out her things, I found it stowed inside her favorite desk drawer. That was a pivotal moment for me, because I realized I had to keep going with my writing. I know she’s smiling down on me.
Love this Jenna--so touching!!
Suzy Ayers: What is the biggest piece of advice you find that you give most often to aspiring writers?
Join a writer’s group and/or a critique group. If your community doesn’t have one, you can find a wide variety online. I’ve been really lucky to find awesome CP’s through the online community, and my writing has grown as a result.
The next piece of advice is to have realistic expectations. The truth: most indie authors aren’t mega successful, and no one starts out being a Stephenie Myer. This brings me to another point. Write for the love of the craft, not solely to make money or see your name on The New York Times Best Sellers list. There’s a deeper enjoyment in doing something if you’re not playing to win. Have fun and relax.
Suzy Ayers: Tell us the book you’re excited to share with us...
My favorite published title is Dirty Little Games. I love the protagonists, Chief Martin and Roxanne. They have a tumultuous relationship that will never be satisfied, but on the same note, they just can’t live without each other.
I really enjoyed writing from the male point of view in this novella, and I totally LOVE reading from the male point of view too. There’s something so compelling and hot about it, because men think differently than women. They’re mostly visual creatures and describing the female body through a man’s eyes can be titillating. A man’s sexual emotions and desires are savage, possessive. It absolutely sets me on fire.
Book Description:
A sequel to the short story, The Escape.
Chief of Police, Kent Martin is a dominant who likes to play wicked sex games in his spare time. After a mock undercover operation in a BDSM club goes awry, he decides to ask Officer Roxanne Morgan to be his exclusive sexual submissive.
Unable to ignore Martin's irresistible charms, Roxanne agrees. But when things start to heat up, "Master's" punishment causes her to lose a grip on her well-controlled emotions. The demons from her painful past come back to haunt her, leaving her desperately confused, wondering whether or not she can play Martin's dirty little game.
But Roxanne's demons aren't the only one's rearing their ugly heads. Martin's comes back with a vengeance, targeting his favorite new toy, the woman he would lay claim to.
There was no self-control, no off-button; Kent Martin was absolutely drowning in her. Wild, animal lust drilled straight into his cock as he lifted Roxanne’s skirt. He shouldn’t do it, but he had to taste her again; he’d done nothing but dream of it. His fingers hooked the elastic band around the tiny thong that pressed into the flesh of her flaring hips, and peeled it over her long, lean legs that had once been wrapped around him. His heated gaze stopped on her glistening pussy, splayed apart, smooth and snuggled between two luscious, stocking-covered thighs.
"I love your breasts, they’re so beautiful,” Martin whispered against her skin as his lips found each nipple. Hunger, nearly uncontrollable, ate at him as he gripped each one with his teeth making them pointed and erect, although careful not to hurt her.
He pressed his pelvis tight against the inside of her thighs, the moist heat radiating between them had his cock harder than petrified wood. The slight inexperience in her eyes tore into him, filling him with guilt that he’d tried to suck her into his twisted world. He couldn’t take her in the ruthless way he wanted, but he couldn’t leave her in need.
Suzy Ayers: Where are you going next? What is your next project/book?
My next release is titled Sealed in Blood. It is a romantic thriller, which was initially intended to be an erotic thriller, but when I got well into the first draft I realized it wasn’t erotic at all because sex does not drive the story, mystery drives the story. It has several steamy sex scenes, lots of heart pounding action, and a dash of horror. I wanted to throw in a little bit of everything to get a feel for writing different genres.
It will be released this spring. The manuscript passed two extremely harsh critiques, and just recently went into the hands of my beta readers. Beta readers are very instrumental in locating problems that CP’s can easily miss. I’m crossing my fingers and holding my breath that my betas won’t find any issues!
