Additionally, I’ve read, “Enduring Kiss”…now this goes into another spectrum of paranormal and is a vampire romance, with a heroine that has internal battles and a jealous women added in for adventurous fun. It’s a creative spin that explains “feeding” in a loving way, and includes some sensual scenes…before the sex even begins. I so loved this book!! ***UPDATE** ENDURING KISS IS FREE!! Oh and CE has talent with baking and decorating cookies…omg check this out!! I’m first. (elbows out)
So without further ado, so glad you’ve come to my page CE!
CE Black: If you asked my closest friends, they will tell you I’m an open book. I am terribly shy at first, but once you get to know me, I don’t shut up. :) The one thing you all know that most of the people in my personal life don’t, is that I write.
Suzy Ayers: Who is a mentor or someone that you look up to/inspires you?
CE Black: My mentors are my best girlfriends. They each give different, yet sage advice, and they are always a phone call away to be my sounding boards. Most of my work would have never been accomplished without them.
I look up to so many authors. I’m in awe of their different writing styles and the way their words and feelings appear on paper (or screen), and I feel inspired to write something great. There are three authors that really made we want to write. Laurell K Hamilton pushed boundaries I had never dreamed of at the time and made me think. One of Charlaine Harris’ books had the first sex scene I had ever read. (And yes I was an adult :) And to say I got hooked is an understatement. Another Author that opened my eyes to writing is Maya Banks. Her stories seem to flow effortlessly, and I think we all wish we could have that ability as writers.
Suzy Ayers: What is the biggest piece of advice you find that you give most often to aspiring writers?
CE Black: Don’t fall into ‘writer’s block’. It’s only an excuse. If a scene is getting intense or we're not sure where to go, our minds want to give up. When that feeling starts, I try to focus on something else, like a scene further in the story, or another idea altogether. Also going back and editing a little will help keep your mind from just shutting down. One quote that has stuck with me is by Nora Roberts (Also a great, great writer.) "You can't fix a blank page." So, no matter what, write. If it's crap, you can fix it later. Just Write!
CE Black: I’m really excited about my newest book, Embraced. It will be released October 8th, 2013, and everyone is invited to my Release Day Party on Facebook. You can get the information on my website.
Though it’s the fourth book to my Enduring Kiss series, each story can be read separately. In Embraced, we finally get Sean’s story. Sean is a character I fell in love with five years ago when I wrote Enduring Kiss. I have been waiting forever to tell his story, and it’s finally here, though he sure did give me a hard time about it. :) Sean is a sweet, all around happy guy (err, wolf), who likes to make people laugh, but in Embraced, he shows us another side. A side with a dark past and a lonely heart.
(Blurb)
Lonely and more than a little depressed, Sean finds himself in a small town bar, drinking his sorrows away, knowing the woman he loves will be married the next day to her true mate. When he meets Sarah, they are both surprised at the intense attraction they share. The night is filled with a passion neither can forget, and Sean becomes confused as to why he's falling for another woman he cannot have. Sarah is human after all, and it's impossible for her to be his mate. One night is all they'll have.
Rogue wolves threaten the small ocean-side town Sean loves, and it's his job to fix the problem. Things don't work as planned, and he's summoned home only to find his worst nightmare. A death of a loved one, brings Sean to his lowest, but when Sarah shows up, he's surprised to find she's not as human as he thought.
Grief and betrayal bring the two lovers back together, though their secretive pasts follow, trying to push them further apart. Sarah must learn to trust Sean, and embrace her true spirit or Sean may not win the fight against his own demons.
(Excerpt)
I got out of the truck, ready to tell her I changed my mind, when I saw her waiting by her car for me. There was something about her that drew me in. I had to admit, she was something of my usual type, and yet she was also something more.
Her bouncy, curly blonde hair brushed her shoulders, enhancing her innocent look. She was a petite thing, maybe five feet tall at the most, but her curves were in all the right places, making the cravings I had earlier at the bar return with a vengeance.
I had changed my mind. Maybe one night with Sarah was just the thing I needed. Watching her face, I waited to see if she wanted to back out. I wasn't sure I could at that point. Part of me was hopeful that she would tell me to go, but another part was holding my breath with anticipation.
When her electric blue eyes settled on mine, I knew her answer to my unspoken question.
Sarah turned without a word and started up the outdoor stairs to her apartment. I followed, wondering why such a sweet looking woman was inviting a stranger into her home. The thought of her picking up some other man, someone who could have harmed her, sent a surprising surge of protectiveness through me...and my wolf. That threw me for a loop. I shook my head, trying to rid myself of the feeling. It was no use.
As Sarah unlocked her apartment door, I leaned in close. She smelled of something sweet, sugary, like chocolate. And underneath the enticing smell, was the unmistakable scent. She was definitely human, but her essence was extremely arousing, causing my already hard dick to stiffen painfully.
My wolf began to pace, ready to claim her. Shit! The feelings were strong. I wanted her, my wolf wanted her, yet she couldn't be my mate. Only another werewolf could be a mate.
Need overpowered reason as we walked over the threshold, and as soon as the door clicked shut, I was on her, pushing her against the door. My mouth connected with hers almost forcibly. My fingers threaded through her hair, holding her head still so I could plunder those sinfully plump lips.
A whimper of pleasure released from her delectable throat, which I answered with a groan as I pressed my body against hers. Sarah's hands slipped around the back of my neck, pulling me closer. Her breasts pressed against my chest, and I could feel her nipples beaded with pleasure.
I nipped her bottom lip, licking the sting away, begging her to open up. Those soft, plump lips parted, allowing my tongue to ease into her mouth. I tasted, took what she had to offer and gave her back what she asked. She tasted so good, tangy from her margarita.
I wanted to devour her, to stay connected. The attraction we shared was intense, and I never wanted it to end. I could have stayed there, getting drunk on her lips all night, but my hard on was telling me to get a move on.
It became a frenzy of touching, kissing, of clothes being thrown off, until we were both naked and hungry. It was like being possessed. I couldn't stop, and it seemed, neither could she.
I had to have her, to possess her, to let her know she was mine. I shook my head. Crazy.
"I know," Sarah whispered.
I didn't understand at first, then realized I must have spoken aloud. She knew this was crazy too, and yet neither of us ceased
Suzy Ayers: Where are you going next? What is your next project/book?
CE Black: I’ve been trying to figure that one out myself. My head and notebook are filled with ideas. I even have one or two stories started, but I’m still on the fence about which one. I have been getting a lot of emails lately asking for more of the Alpha Division from Shifted Temptations, so I may start on that next.
